FAQ

Why do you charge less than some other photographers?

A.I believe photography should be accessible without sacrificing quality. My prices are structured to be budget-friendly while still covering my time, equipment, and editing. You’ll still receive professional, carefully edited photos — just at a rate that makes it easier for families and couples to capture their moments without financial stress.

How many photos will I receive?

A.For portrait sessions, I deliver a set number of edited images based on your package with the option to purcahse more. For weddings & events, you’ll receive all the best images from the day, edited and ready to cherish.

How do I get my photos?

A.Portrait and milestone sessions are delivered via an online gallery where you can view and download your photos. Weddings are delivered on a keepsake flash drive for easy access and safe storage.

Do you offer payment plans?

A.Yes! I understand that finances aren’t always easy, so I offer flexible payment plans for weddings and larger sessions.

Do you travel outside Elizabethtown/Cecilia?

A.Yes! I love exploring new locations. Travel within 15 minutes of Elizabethtown is included. For further travel, a small fee may apply.

Do you shoot weekdays?

A.At this time, I only offer weekend sessions. Weddings and events can be booked for Saturdays & Sundays.

How far in advance should we book?

A.For weddings, I recommend booking 6–12 months in advance. For portrait sessions, at least 3–4 weeks ahead is ideal to secure your preferred date.

What happens if it rains?

A.Weather can be unpredictable, but don’t worry — we’ll make the best of it! If rain is light, we can embrace it for some fun, unique photos (umbrellas can make for really romantic shots!). If the weather is too harsh, we’ll reschedule your session at no extra cost to make sure you get the photos you deserve. For weddings, I’ll work with you to find covered or indoor spots so the day is still beautifully documented, unless of course you want some romantice rainy day wedding photos.

How long will it take to get my photos back?

A.Turnaround time depends on the session type. For weddings, please allow up to 12 weeks for delivery, and for portraits, up to 4 weeks. To hold you over, I always share a sneak peek on my Facebook page within the week of your session or wedding day!

What is your payment policy?

A.For weddings, a 50% non-refundable retainer fee is required at the time of booking to secure your date. The remaining balance can be paid in installments, but all payments must be completed before your photos are delivered. Most portrait sessions do not require a retainer — payment is simply due on the day of your session.

Do you offer refunds?

A.I do not offer refunds.

Can I reschedule my session?

A.Yes! Life happens, and I’m happy to reschedule if something comes up.

Can I request specific poses or shot ideas?

A.Yes! I love incorporating client ideas. You can send me inspiration photos, and I’ll guide you to create those moments while keeping everything natural and relaxed.

Can I share my photos on social media?

A.Yes! Your photos are yours to share, but I ask that my credit is included if posting online (e.g., “Photos by Kayla D. Hayes Photography”).

How do we book a session?

A.Simply reach out via my contact form, email, or social media. Once we confirm your date, I’ll send a contract and, if applicable, a retainer invoice to secure your session.

What should we wear?

A.I recommend coordinating colors and styles without being overly “matchy.” Solid colors and textures photograph beautifully, and I can give personalized suggestions based on your session location.

Can we request a specific location?

A.Absolutely! I love working in locations that are meaningful to you. We can also discuss suggestions based on lighting and scenery for the best results.

Do you offer prints?

A.At this time, I do not offer prints, however, I recommend using mpix.com for the best quality or shutterfly.com for a cheaper alternative.
